| We are happy to announce our winners
of FIRST HUMAN POTENTIAL NON-FICTION
CONTEST |
| |
| The winning entry for the Contest
was awarded to Mark Meincke for Why Not Me?
The runner up is Fred Meissner, for On the Nature
of Being |
| |
|
The First INHOUSEPRESS Non-Fiction Contest
dealing with the subject of Human Potential attracted thirty-nine
entries. Some submissions disqualified themselves by exceeding
the number of words allowable. To include them would be unfair
to those who stuck to the rules. A number of participants offered
interesting stories, some attractive narratives, but seldom dealing
directly with the subject matter. Nevertheless, we are delighted
by the response, and we thank all participants for their efforts.
We hope to see your work again, when we announce the next contest.
In the meantime, we wish you every success.
For the Editors,
Bozena

| WHY NOT ME? - The keys
to unlock your power, and release your potential |

In the Hindu religion, there is a sharp focus
on Dharma. Choosing your Dharma is choosing to walk the path
set for you by the Supreme Being. If you follow your Dharma,
you will no longer be a fish out of water, or a round peg trying
to fit in a square hole. When you are doing what you are meant
to do, you will then be utilizing your natural skill sets and
talents; thus, success will be inevitable. Finding your Dharma
is like falling in love. If you're ready for it to happen, then
when it happens, you will just know. And nobody will be able
to talk you out of it. If you aren't sure of what it is you should
be doing, just make sure that you are in the ball park. Close
is good enough for a start.
One way to find your Dharma is to write a
list of what you don't want in your life. Most people have an
easier time identifying what they don't want than what they do
want. It will still take courage to cut these items out of your
life, but at least you will have a list to use as a reference
when you are deciding on one path over another. The closer you
are to your Dharma, the easier and more enjoyable your life path
will be.
The best example I can think of to illustrate
Dharma is to talk about my dog, Abby.

| NEW RELEASE |
| |
| In November, INHOUSEPRESS
released a new novel: HEADLESS WORLD - The Vatican Incident
by Stan I.S. Law (sequel to The Avatar Syndrome). |
| |
|
About the book:
Join Anne (heroine of The Avatar Syndrome);
her husband, Peter; Sir Ian, the affable maestro; Gabriel, the
mystical butler; and their new friend, Gio, the quirky but powerful
Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church as they unravel the most sinister
bid for power the world has ever seen.
THE HEADLESS WORLD pits the traditions and beauty of the Vatican
against the cold mechanical might of the American War Machine.
The whole world is the playing field. Who will win? Who will
decide the future?
|
| Action takes place
in Montreal, Washington and the Vatican. The novel is as much
a page-turner as it is a study of Human Potential. |

My head is full of wonder - filled with roses?
No...
bluebottles and poppies in fields of windswept corn
swaying like open sea. It was the height of summer
when...
--------I remember it well... I was so happy then.
I felt almost silly. My legs raised up, so
carefree...
Blue sky soaring above me, entwining puffs of cotton...
He sat right next to me, his hand... he touched me gently
when...
--------I remember it well... I was so happy then.
My mind still wanders to those old, swaying
cornfields.
I hear voices of children, or are they angels' trills?
My brow turned grey... ah, yes, it was way back
when...
--------I guess I will remain happy now, even as then.
